Fun car to drive but it ends there. Only had it a few weeks and it dumped most of the oil. Timing chain tensioner bolt seal went and needed replacing with a modified part. MINI is aware of this but keep quiet about it. Last week we shredded a tyre with no indication from the monitoring system that we had a puncture. This week, boot lid kept unlocking and opening. Poor seal around the number plate light lets water into the boot switch. Replaced with a modified part. Another problem that is known but not publicly acknowledged. Boot lid is filling with water every time it rains - still trying to trace the source of the leak.For a premium priced car the build quality and reliability is appalling.

Expensive, thought MINI was a quality brand and it certainly isn't. Most unreliable car I've ever had. The car is 3 years old and has less than 10k miles. There have been an issue with the roof, heater problems (and it's failing again), the radio packed up and there have been stop start issues. The dash had to be removed to replace radio and the car now has more rattles than mothercare. All in all very poor. The garage has been good but this definitely not been what I expected from a premium brand. VERY POOR for a £20k motor

It has never let me down mechanically, left outside 24h, often cold starts. Tyres - hate the run flats and expensive too.

It's the little things that spoil this car for me. It has more rattles and squeaks at 1 year old than my streetka did at 5 years. The run flat tyres affect the handling on uneven surfaces. The computer system that controls all the settings is too fiddly to use, i had to ask the dealer to alter the clock last year and undo the mess i'd made so i haven't attempted to alter the clock this autumn and the read out display is too small. The price of accessories is astronomical, £300 plus for spotlights!!! Interrmittent bulb failure lights that can't be traced. Water leaking into the bootlid. I didn't expect the rear seats to be of much use but i can't have anyone sitting behind me and retain my seating position. And i'm only 5'8" tall!! It's just not good enough on a car that cost in excess of £24k. Should i have bought an a3 or 1 series convertible instead?

Great when the sun shines and easy to park. Would probably not have another of this model from a practicality point of view, but i'm glad to have owned it.

This car seriously is everything I could want. It feels sporty and quick but is still comfortable with the heated seats, etc. I actually don’t find it uneconomical at all and I feel so connected to the road. Incredible car.

What's the one thing you like most about your car?

So quick and very sporty feeling

If you could improve one thing, what would it be?

I wish I got the facelifted model to make the interior slightly more appealing, but this is a minor complaint
