Porsche 911 coupe (2011-2019): owner reviews

“The Porsche 911 has evolved further from its original formula, but its appeal remains intact – it still fills the gap between sports car and supercar with aplomb”

Decent performance, good to drive, high level of trim (electric ruffled crested leather memory seats, full leather pack, sat nav, phone kit, 18" alloys, bi-zenon litronic headlights, electric tilt/slide sunroof etc) easy to drive fast or just tootle about town and not bad mpg if you dont give it too much welly, up to 29-30 mpg.

At 12K miles I noticed white smoke coming out of exhaust. I was given a BMW loan car because a major engine problem was diagnosed and I had a long wait for parts from Germany. There was no Porsche courtesy car available and communication was very poor. I had another problem last month – an airbag warning light that took three weeks to sort out

Generally reliable and running costs not as high as would be expected for a supercar. It's a 911 turbo and returns 25.2 mpg. Tyres are expensive but the rears last for about 12000 and the fronts about 18000. Of course if you drive like an idiot these figures will take a nose dive but for normal driving, using the performance sensibly, it's surprisingly economical.

It's an amazing machine. Around a track it sounds gorgeous, is ridiculously quick and brakes and handles superbly. The great thing is that my wife and i can drive down to french tracks in air-conditioned comfort, with enough room for our luggage for a week and a case of wine on the way home - not quite so easy in a caterham or lotus 2 eleven! In guards red it looks pretty spectacular too.

As a comfortable performance car it is a dream come true. It is like driving a swiss watch on wheels.

Superb performance, only supercars which more then often cost twice as much will out perform with acceleration. It has fantastic poise, bags of grip and the handling feel you get through the steering wheel/seat etc allows you to find the limits quite easily. These are the main factors which sold the car to me and stood out within the first few minutes of my 1st test drive. On top of this you have styling which seems to have timeless looks, although the interior which is ok and well built like most of the car could be a little more unique. This is probably one of the easiest sports cars to drive and practical enough for every day driving. There is not allot you can fault with this car!

Apart from tyres, brakes and other consumables, nothing has ever gone wrong (touch wood). It has never broken down, never failed an MOT, very reliable.
Running Cost

It may not do over 30mpg, but has minimal depreciation and spare parts, repairs are never really needed.

Brilliant. Love performance cars, love this one- only one i've had that compares was a honda integra type-r when i was a lad ( still weep when i think about selling it!). Great to drive, reliable, relatively inexpensive to maintain compared to its peers and, despite advancing years, still looks good. Nearly bought a new one last summer- went home to think, washed my baby and thought - "why?"

I enjoy driving it and the depreciation has pretty stopped. I only drive on the weekend so don't do many miles so the fuel consumption is not a big factor.
