When you lease a car, you’re effectively renting it. First you pay an initial rental charge, then a set monthly cost over a set period - usually 36 or 48 months - and when the contract is up, you hand the keys back and that’s the end of the deal. There are a few extra factors to be taken into account should you opt for a PCH contract. Firstly, there will be an annual mileage allowance. If you exceed this limit then you will be charged per extra mile and some of the rates can be quite high. Also, much like a normal rental car, the vehicle’s condition must be acceptable on its return, otherwise you’ll have to pay to make the car good again.
