Stunningly good medium sized hot-hatch, very much on a par with Hyundai i30N, VW Golf Gti and Honda Type R, two of the aforementioned I have owned. The Focus is the most pleasing of that group to drive, it's looks are a little demure compared with them though. Ford has priced this car maybe a little too high but by the time dealer discounts and low Ford PCP deals are taken into account there is little to choose between them in terms of outlay. For driving pleasure and general all round ability the Focus is excellent, I don't regret stepping away from the other cars I mentioned (although they were also very good in their own ways). My economy of 34-35 mpg is a reflection of how it was driven, it's possible to achieve high 30's with a modicum of restraint, but is that how it's likely to be used......I don't believe so!
