Mercedes-AMG A 45 hatchback - Reliability & safety
The Mercedes-AMG A 45 S has a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating
Based on the most recent version of the A-Class, the A 45 S hasn't been in the hands of customers for long enough to conclude if it’s reliable. The Mercedes brand definitely has some work to do as far as customer satisfaction goes, as it came 26th out of 30 manufacturers in our 2019 Driver Power survey. Around 24% of owners reported a fault within the first 12 months, and servicing was also criticised for being too expensive.
The A-Class received a five-star rating from crash-test experts Euro NCAP. The A 45 S is likely to follow in the A 35's footsteps, with a wide range of active and passive safety systems fitted as standard. This can be augmented with an optional 'Driving Assistance' pack that adds features like adaptive cruise control, lane-change assist and active-blind spot assist to take the strain out of longer drives.
