I bought a 1.9TDI 6 months ago with average mileage (50k). I paid £15k for it. Since then the turbo charger has failed, the alternator has burnt out along with the starter motor. Its a very unreliable car so I have had to incur additional cost to obtain breakdown cover. I would never buy another one. I had a Vauxhall Vectra 2005 before that with over 80k miles with not a bit of trouble. With 40 years of drivibg i have never used roadside recovery until i bought an Audi.

I bought this used car when it was only one year and 200 miles in 2014. I have very normal driving, only 10,000 miles a year with combination of city and motorway driving. Now I have done 30,000 miles during the past 3 years. My Audi A4 had been fully serviced by the dealer, yet I have experienced a clutch fault twice with only 30,000 miles. There's a 1st gear juddering problem that causes me to doubt Audi quality. The first time I had this problem is in Aug/2015 I had clutch and flywheel fixed within warranty. Then the same problem happened again recently. The new clutch has only lasted 1 and half years. If they challenge my driving style, I don't agree with it. I have been driving for more than 10 years with Skoda Fabia and Ford Focus. I never had any issue with the clutch. I called Audi customer service, they told me that they couldn't fix it anymore. I have to pay about 2000 pounds to get a new clutch and flywheel. That's ridiculous. I bought this car because of the top review when I bought my Audi A4. I think I need to give a warning to the potential buyers. Be cautious with Audi A4 clutch.

I bought the car because it looks great, is big inside and the quality of the interior out weighed its BMW competitor by miles. I was told that I would get about 67MPG on average but I'm nowhere near that and I do have to say even though I drive it fairly sensible that it can be very thirsty at times.

Drives reasonably but reliability is very poor, so poor we're changing it after 18 months. Fuel cap locked shut, the coolant system gave up and the turbo stopped working. All under warranty but > £3,000 of repairs in five months. This is the second consecutive Audi I've had with dreadful reliability, between them they've had 14 repairs under warranty.

2005 (55 reg) audi S4, without a doubt the best car i've ever owned. in the 2.5 years I owned this car, and the 65,000 miles i put on the clock, I never once had an issue with the car. The reliability is astounding and then there is the performance which is just unbelievable. driving normally, you'd think you were in an extra nice A4, sports mode on you would be mistaken for thinking your in a race car. Grips incredibly to the road and feels awesomely powerful. Downsides? - it chews up tyres, and just drinks fuel. It doesn't sound like a big V8 until your over 3,000rpm. Other than that I couldn't recommend this car high enough - I hope to own another one day.

Purchased an A4 S Line as part of the Audi Used Approved Scheme from a local Audi dealer. Unfortunately, like some other reviews, I have had a number of reliability issues, including the dual mass flywheel (costly to fix), break pads/discs, frequent tyre/oil replacements. Having paid a premium price for the car, which I thought was a strong brand, I'd avoid purchasing another Audi again. Both Audi HQ and the local dealer are more interested in the profit than customer service. My advice would be avoid paying premium prices as the quality certain isn't premium.

Overall the car feels solid on the road and does not roll around corners at speed. It is extremely comfortable and always feels like a cockpit of a plane inside with the wrap around dash. The electronic handbrake as standard and the perfect driving position make it one of the best cars I have drove. The car also has fold down seats as standard, which compared to BMW is a real benefit when carrying large items. If you drive the car normally you can achieve a realistic figure of 45mpg and if you do 60mph for length on the motorway I have even achieved ranges in the 50s which is superb for a petrol car. Don't feel that you need to pay the extra for a diesel as the petrol is much more quieter and cheaper to run. The only downside is that this car literally drinks oil, I have to add approximately 1 litre ever month and I barely cover 40miles a day. This is a known "fault" which Audi A4, and I add fault in quotations because Audi tell me this is normal. I would accept this information from Audi too as many people on internet forums worldwide suffer the same issue.

Mine is an ex demo car. I loved everything about if from the test drive, we have done over 149,000 mile together and it has never let me down. It's still in great condition. Pros - stylish/comfortable/reliable/good residual value/economical Cons- Audi service is expensive (but good)/tyres are expensive/

Only a faulty coil pack (at home) has made it necessary to call out recovery. All coil packs were subsequently replaced free of charge by Audi.

The probleme, like most problems these days, are not the cars... it is the dealer networks and the fact they no longer employ any mechanics! They only employ technitions that can only replace parts that the computer, or the manufacturer (in bullitens) tell them to do so. They, or the dealers (in the main) no longer have the skill set or experience to diagnose problems, especially when it would save money in the long run by better maintenance, or by sovling a potential costly problem before it manifests.

I initially had problems with the DPF. Arnold Clark - who sold the car to me didn't tell me and I rtook it straight from there to Audi Glasgow for a major service; it broke down 30 minutes after I picked it up from Audi. Audi did not explain the problems I would have with the DPF either - despite knowing I would be doing a lot of city driving. After looking at the forums, I camr to the conclusion that I would have it removed and remapped. It now produces just over 230 BHP and is slightly better on consumption and is an absolute pleasure to drive

Bombproof . Had the cars seven years and faultess cheap to run and own enough power for me and economically is excellent around town and even better on the run (50-56) mpg. Passengers always comment on the cars pace and suburb road holding. The car feels like a tank has a great sound system and still looks great today. Dealers have been fine and fair and the car has flown through every Mot. Like some other comment disappointed Audi gave the car to Seat so on that basis will probably not have another, besides I don't think the current crop of A4 look as good. Done 66k miles and is good on the oil too.

I love my audi a4 cabriolet, it's shortcomings are the handling and performance but the latter is purely down to the engine choice i was forced to choose by my employer (2.0 diesel). The best aspect of the car has been it's fantastic build quality and reliability and the superior customer service encountered at my local dealership, when sheduled work is due i have borrowed some excellent courtesy cars and the customer service second to none.

Very pleased with my audi. The car looks stylish as it is a standard sports model. Very easy and relaxing to drive with the multitronic gearbox. Fuel economy is very good, performance is ok although my previous car was a 330i bmw so the audi is never going to be as lively !! All in all very pleased with the audi and would definately have another.
