Was running fine in the first year and a half driving it, end of last year the engine management light came on and paid for new parts, spark plugs etc. light went off, out of nowhere last week driving on the M1 it went into limp mode with the engine management light back on but flashing this time. It's been sat in the ford garage for over a week now whilst I still wait to see what the cause of the issue is, will cost and arm and a leg to fix! For the year and mileage on the car I wouldn't be expecting problems like this to occur so quickly, sadly no recall for it has appeared!

I've had this car a little over 2 years now and it's time to get rid but I think it deserves a bit of a review. I'm getting rid due to family additions and needing something a bit larger. Starting from the dealer, I had a few issues that initially were annoying. When revving in 1st or 2nd gear the engine detected a fault and went into safe mode (2 cylinders and no more than 3000revs) which was frustrating. Dealer could fund no problems. After using some injector cleaning fuel additives, the problem went away. Other than that the car has mechanically never let me down. So to drive one. Its your simple 3 door hatchback with the 1.6 diesel engine with the sports setup. Now the comfort is somewhat compromised due to stiffened suspension and skinny tyres, but the trade off is impressive. The handling of this car is simply superb. If you enjoy a bit if fun down the windy b roads then you'll struggle to find something more fun than this. Being a diesel the engine has plenty of pull with next to no turbo lag, but might benefit from having a 6th gear for motorway cruising. Economy? 20 pounds road tax makes this cheap to begin with. Average fuel economy is 60mpg. No complaining there. Practicality? It's a 3 door hatchback. What do you expect? Fine for 2 people but I wouldn't want to be in the back on a long journey (I'm not exactly tall either) It's worth noting that on this particular model, I've found no option for roof bars to be attached so you're stuck with whatever the boot will hold for you. Safety? Unfortunately I have had a bump in this car, courtesy of somebody trying a crash for cash. However the car protected us brilliantly. Crumpled in all the right places and no intrusions into the cabin which is reassuring. We all walked away without even a bruise. Overall a great little car. I'll be sad to see it go.

Having been a own of many Fords and after my 52 plate mondeo died it was time to buy a new car. We got ourselves a little gem of a car! In my youth I had both an XR2 and XR3i but this little red rocket is brilliant. The selling point for me was the performance from the 1.0ltr engine ( it revs so well). So far we've had no issues apart from a stone chip in the centre of the bonnet(grrr). Also, getting it to see an apple phone was a mission, but I'm a bloke so the manual has never been opened! Just test drove an MG3 maybe we could have saved a few thousand if bought this car over the Ford, but you just wouldn't have got the grin factor.

Well, I've just put this in for a part ex after around 30k miles. This is the verdict: + Great technology for the money - heated windscreen, DAB, cruise control and excellent SYNC Bluetooth system. + Great handling (although not quite as good as is sometimes made out). + Great ride for a car this size, making for a decent motorway cruise. - Too slow. All the power is in first gear, so overtaking on A-roads isn't as straight forward as it should be. - Cheap plastics and fittings. - Issues with cruise control after 20k, gearbox after 30k - various rattles suggest more is to come... Overall, changing from my 1.6 diesel Mito was daft. The Mito was quicker, classier, just as practical and stood out from the crowd (of Fiestas). Fords seem cheaply designed and built in my experience, although you do get more for your money in theory than with other brands.

Good spec titanium x. With leather heated seats windscreen climate etc.great little engine and chassis mated to a cheese grater gearbox that clunks resists and turns this "class leader" into irritating and sometimes stressful car to drive. Buy because it's a great safe eco package . Not the great handling car you should expect because of that gearbox

I bought this car s/h with 2300 mls on it this August 16 I'm am well pleased, I've never owned a car with this much performance and economy to match my driving is non motorway the best so far on a run from Lincoln to Gt Yarmouth i got 59.5 I normally get 53 ,Iv'e owned Diesel Fiesta's before getting similar results but nothing like the power of this tiny 3 cylinder engine which is as sweet as a nut .I did consider a MX5 but the economy and high road tax put me off .

I've owned the car since new and have covered just over 25k miles. I've driven on all types of roads with a fair share of traffic jams, but have still averaged 56.5 MPG (trip computer, 54.3MPG actual) since first owning the car. This was achieved by careful driving with little sudden acceleration or sudden braking. The only issue has been the gearbox and the odd rattle. Selecting reverse has sometimes been an issue, where the lever didn't fully engage the gear. I quickly learnt to get a feel for this, and if I'm in doubt I put back in neutral and try again. It's always OK second time. Rattles can be annoying and appear more common in hot weather. Overall, it's been a reliable car that's been cheap to run.

I brought my Fiesta from a used car supermarket to replace a 56-plate C-max. It is great for going to work everyday, has £20 tax and makes a great family car for when it's my turn to be taxi. I would recommend it.

Looked great & drove well. However - very, very disappointed when the problems started after only a few months. Lots of interior rattles - A pillar trims, dashboard, passenger door trim (vibrated badly even at low volumes whenever the stereo was on), boot rattle. Cold draught from behind dash onto knees. Reverse gear very difficult to engage. Stereo turning itself on intermittently. USB port not working properly. Electric folding mirrors making a shrieking noise. Climate control kept resetting itself to 22 degrees. Fuel economy always 8 mpg below that indicated by trip computer. Fuel flap difficult to open. Fuel leaking from under the car at the petrol station whenever I filled the tank. Parking sensors never worked properly. Boot kept unlocking itself. Fabric on driver's seat squab kept coming loose. Dirt in the paint on the bonnet - & car was delivered, new, with a scratch running the full length of the roof & also scratches on both doors. Blind spot glass fitted to passenger door mirror instead of driver's door mirror - fixed under warranty. Titanium badge not on straight & the "u" fell off after 2 months. Brake discs warped after 10,000 miles. Worst of all was the issue of the engine intermittently cutting out at speed, very scary especially on the motorway. Dealer useless with all issues, had to get rid. Great design absolutely ruined by shoddy, cheap & nasty build quality. Never again.

Owned this car since new. Only had one problem with the car but it's a major one - the Powershift automatic gearbox. When the car was 18 months old it began to shudder when accelerating from low speeds. This is a known problem that Ford have successfully kept quiet in the UK. Service advisors at Ford dealers will claim it's not a common problem - but it is. Gearbox needed new clutch plates and seals (the oil leaks through the seals onto the clutches and causes slipping) and the car was off the road for about a week. Because it's such a serious problem Ford have extended the warranty for the transmission to 5 years on affected cars. Which is just as well because my car is beginning to show the same symptoms AGAIN just as the "normal" 3 year warranty is expiring. Also the car's engine is supposed to produce over 100BHP. It certainly doesn't feel like it. The KA courtesy car that I had when the gearbox was being fixed felt much faster despite it having a much less powerful engine. It makes overtaking on single lane roads a risky affair. I recommend you avoid the Powershift equipped car. Look at Ford owner forums on the internet to see how widespread the Powershift problem is. The only good thing about the car worth mentioning is that it's been totally rattle free. Although I drove a Fiesta hire car that was younger than mine and it had many rattles. Luck of the draw it seems.

Pros: - Good handling, sharp steering, no body roll when cornering - smooth gearbox, well equipped (sync, LED lights, heated windscreen, mood light, leather steering wheel), good road/engine noise isolation (just a little wind noise around A-pillar) - Reasonably well build with good plastics. No squeaks or rattles. Good storage Cons: - Disappointing fuel economy (gears were made longer to improve mpg but this made car slower with no better mpg) - Firm, narrow seats - hold well in corners but not comfy over long distances - Hard to find comfortable driving position despite 2-way adjustable seat and steering column (I'm 1.8m): either pedals are too close or gear knob too far - Poor rear visibility, side mirrors too close to driver - need to turn the head to see. - cramped rear seats - seatbelt hard to reach on 3-door version - poor night vision - yellow, low brightness headlights - ride may be too hard for some - small fuel tank Problems: - reverse gear pops out quiet often when selected - noisy brakes - seat latches didn't work when brand new

I'm not going to go into detail about how the car rides or handles just how car is to live with. This 1.0 Ecoboost isn't for everyone - if you drive mostly city you will be better off with a diesel or a hybrid because city mpg is not as good. On the highway is where this car shines where I can sometimes see 50 mpg (UK). The interior is strangely laid out with the arm rests - one is too far forward, one is too far back. The build quality could be better - my lumbar support broke at 29,000 miles and my speaker also acts up once in a blue moon with strange feedback. The upside it feels very reliable with over 40,000 miles it feels just like it just left the factory. The only complaint I have is the oil bathed time belt how expensive it that to replace? If you are looking for the roomiest, most reliable and the best put together supermini, avoid. But if you are the type that name your car and see it as more then just an appliance it's worth checking out.

Bought this car new with only 20 miles on clock in September 2015, although it was registered by dealer in March 2015. I know how to drive a car economically and have successfully managed to do that with all the other cars I have owned. However, about town driving (small town, no lights or heavy traffic!) I only get between 35-40 MPG...on longer journeys out of town and motorway driving I get between 43-48 MPG...nothing close to what Ford advertises!!! I am really, really disappointed in this! I wouldn't have chosen the Fiesta if I had known what the real mileage per gallon was going to be!!! Also, since buying it only 5 months ago the cruise control (which has only been used about 3-4 times!) has totally packed in! Other complaints are that you get a terrible glare off the dashboard onto windscreen which can alter vision tremendously and it corners horribly. You don't even have to be going fast on slippy roads...it just slides round corners and I have no confidence that we will make it in one piece. Awful! The back doors have roll up windows that manage to vibrate themselves down enough to become noisy and let in some water, the back doors are tinny when you close them (making them sound cheap!) and all doors seem to allow the dirt off wet roads to line the foot plates (leaving me to think the seals ain't much good either). Last Ford I bought was an Explorer Sport in the USA and I swore I would NEVER buy Ford again because things just broke, one by one. I mellowed over time and here I am the owner of another Ford and disappointed once again. I have to add in fairness though, the styling, interior and exterior look great. Some of the features are good but the important things for me are safety and economy...not happy with either.

Several problems - dashboard reflection on windscreen is dangerous. This is a serious but obvious oversight by the manufacturers, all they had to do was take the car out for a drive on a mildly sunny day to notice. I told the dealership about this, and they looked at me as if I was mental, and told me there was zero problem with this - even though there clearly was. I even wrote to Ford - no response. It's absolutely ridiculous - the window is a mottled grey reflection - sometimes I can't actually see where I'm going. The same with the night lights - also poor. The windows also steam up constantly and the ventilation system is very clumsy to deal with this. I have to be either boiling hot or freezing cold with the window open. I have never had this kind of problem with any other car. The music system is poor quality with very basic sound. It's a bit of a brick to drive - strong and reliable. But that said, it's been in twice for serious repairs. Once for sensors, which had to be fixed and now again for a major engine fault. The Ford Fiesta is consistently given excellent reviews, which is why I bought it, but I remain unconvinced.

This is the second fiesta titanium I have owned and just love it. I have chosen the Titanium X this time, with added extras like front parking sensors, and sat nav with rear camera. Although the Titanium is one of the most expensive Fiestas in my view it is well worth the extra cost, lovely to drive, very comfortable with part leather heated seats. And the new eco engine is so powerful, quiet and economical on fuel. This is the best car I have ever owned, and looks so beautiful in white, I recommend it to everyone looking for a small nippy little car.

Where do I start. In my short time driving (3 years) I have driven a Fiat 500, Renault Clio, Smart fortwo, Mercedes C220, BMW 3 Series and an Insignia. This is hands down the best out of the lot. But not by just a little bit, but a long way. I got a regular Zetec S as a hire car about a year before I had this and fell in love with it. When I came to buy it, the added little touches of the Red Edition had me sold to pay the little extra, plus when I come to hand it back for a new one it will be worth a little more. The looks: You get constant comments about little things in the car that you don't even notice usually but when someone points it out it's great. I never thought I would own a red car never mind be so happy with it. In my opinion it is a better looking beast than the black edition as that looks even more "boy racer" than the red. The black wheels are fantastic and the red interior lighting that nobody needs, but you will after you have it. In a country where the best selling car is a Fiesta if you want to be individual and get a great car this is the way to go, I've literally seen 2 since I have owned it but a lot more black edition versions. It's funny seeing people give you a nod of approval who also have the red or black edition, like it's a secret club. Performance: The car is made to look good but it's certainly not an all fur coat no knickers job. It packs a hell of a punch for a 1L and when you raise the revs and shift down/come out of gear it delivers a brilliant little 'tssss' sound. It's absolutely perfect for city driving where getting those little advantages from the lights make the difference between on time and late. The gearbox is nigh on perfect, mine feels a touch stiff going into reverse but that is the only fault with the performance I feel. Economy: This is where I think the vehicle lets itself down a tad and it's not the car it's the people at Ford overstating MPG but that is an industry wide problem for another day. I can drive economically and struggle to get over 50mpg (average journey) without coasting for half of it. It will not get you what they promise you. If it's economy you want go for the Titanium diesel. But we all know if you want a red edition you couldn't care less about that. In a nutshell get this car and you will thank me. If you dont like the over the top looks of this get the Zetec S in white. The one I had as a hire car. Clarkson said this is the best car you will own that isn't a Golf. But life is for living so have a bit of fun and buy a Zetec S. For me, it's time to try the Fiesta ST see if it trumps it.

The 1.25 82 engine runs well but has no thrills and it's slow up hills. Since owning the car it's had 3 faults. Firstly with the boot lock not opening, secondly with the steering clunking at low speed which are 2 common faults. Finally, the 3rd fault the car kept jumping out of reverse gear. The linkage had to be lubricated. It's now ok. The rear window has poor vision when reversing. The door seals are falling off. Overall I would say it's ok but great.

Dashboard reflection on windscreen very annoying, also heating vents reflecting near the wing mirrors disrupting the view from the mirror. First the good, economy, and drives ok, but not that good in the wet (continental tyres, rubbish). Now the bad, dash buzzes, near side A pillar rattles, near side door rattles a lot, B pillar something intermittently knocks, tailgate rattles, suspension squeaks when there is a rear passenger, shiny black plastic scratches really easily, engine doesn't like 2nd gear when cold and driving on my estate at low speeds, so 1st gear only or you will kangaroo everywhere which means high revs? Dealer not that good when buying the car (Gates of Dunmow) that's gone now so have to deal with Gates of Bishop Stortford, for servicing and faults, they sort of try but aren't that interested anymore, seem to want to ignore my e- emails now!. This is my twelfth ford, I can only think of 2 cars that didn't rattle all the rest did and do, no more fords for me this is the last one, as soon as I can afford it I'm off to the VAG group.

Bought new and must say what a disappointment. The engine is good (diesel 1.6) but it is let down by build quality and after service work. Bought it from Polar Ford in Warrington and at the first service I was so p'd off with the technicians at the customer desk I decided there and then never to deal with that company ever again. As for the car: Fuel cap - went out of alignment in the first 12 months and the Ford recommended solution is to cut a piece of plastic off of the cover mechanism.. In other words, bodge it. If you don't bodge it be prepared to take your time at the filling station pushing and pulling at the cap until it pops open. Rear view mirror - got a camera in mine which works great, but the mirror itself developed a strange refraction line across the width and basically was told it isn't covered by warranty - in fact, all my problems have never been covered by warranty which seems to be the de facto response from Polar Ford. Bonnet - the right side of the bonnet has gradually fell down so it now rubs on the wing bodywork, but there is no way of adjusting the alignment that I can see. Speed - no way on Gods earth is the speedo ever going to register the actual speed of the vehicle. Be prepared to be overtaken on the motorway by every other vehicle if you think you are doing 70. Poor build of plastics - creaks and squeaks for every wheel revolution. Reverse gear - slips out of reverse gear with regular occurrence no matter how hard and positive you think the gear change was. Battery - after 29k miles the battery decided to do a Dodo impression and refused to even engage the starter. I have myself narrowed this down to 2 fuses in the main box - firstly the hazard warnings fuse (15A) and secondly the security system fuse (30A?) which incidentally seems to control just about everything else in the car too as well as the security. This was resulting in a 1.81A drain on the battery. Suspension - makes for lively driving in the wet with totally imbalanced proportions front and rear. Not for the faint hearted. Would I ever buy another Ford - not on your life, never ever ever. 3 words for Ford: avoid avoid avoid. I am giving 1 star begrudgingly because I cannot give it 0 star

Ordered a 2014 reg Ford Fiesta Titanium X with 1.0 Ecoboost that has 125bhp in 3 door black and delivery took 7 weeks. Owned this for under a month and I'm very pleased with this car. Used to own 2 fiestas (60 reg Zetec 1.25 petrol and 59 reg 1.6 TDCi titanium) and I must note that Ford have upped their game. I was unsure of the 1.0 engine at first however I am surprised with the performance (slightly faster than a 1.6 petrol Astra that I've owned twice) and although it's early days with 2,000 miles on the clock, it does roughly 46mpg with mixed driving with the occasional kick down on the motorway. Impressed with the over boost feature which kicks in if I put my foot down the revs are over 3000 rpm so useful for overtaking and getting out of trouble. Best thing is my insurance has reduced dramatically and I won't need to pay for tax ever on this vehicle. Would definitely recommend the Titanium X as the heated seats are a dream as well as the sat-nav which is excellent. Also to note, as my car was delivered at the end of March 2014, Ford have made some slight changes to the a few models of the Fiestas, i.e. Titanium X now comes with rear parking sensors and a rear camera standard with this model. They've taken out the chrome lining in the steering wheel if I'm correct and the chrome bit from the front bottom bumper but it doesn't bother me at all. Managed to get £1,500 discount from M53 Ford Ellesmere Port and would highly recommend them. I'm also looking to get a detachable tow bar fitted and trying to find places that will do it without cutting the rear bottom bumper to tow a jet ski. Hopefully I will have many more years of positive driving in this car. Other cars of similar size i.e. Corsas still offer dated engines similar to 10/15 years ago with limited options and lose their value far more than the fiestas. Very glad I went for a Fiesta rather than a BMW 1 series which I considered at one point as personally I think they are very good cars. However the Fiesta exceeds my needs and expectations for much less money meaning I have more money to enjoy life.

I borrowed one of these cars, as my corsa, (only owned for less than a month) spent most of it's time in the garage. So I tested the econetic diesel 1.6 and was pleasantly surprised. Beautiful to drive and very easy to park. Very sturdy model. I have the 5 door and would say the back doesn't have much space if you have taller people in the front and the boot is smaller than other models. But these would be the only disadvantages. As positives, it's been reliable so far, tax free, cheap insurance and you can get a fair bit of miles out of the diesel, more so than it's petrol versions. £20 lasts me over a week. It has a beautiful sound system and is smooth in both long and short journeys. I would buy another fiesta again

It is a motability car, have had no problems with it, until after 23000 miles and 2 and half years the battery failed, had to be replaced, one day it is working no problem, next day ignition came on but would not turn the engine over at all, even with jumper cables, RAC man said battery was faulty and replaced it. Economy is very good, have had it up to 66mpg at one point on long motorway journey, it is now averaging 63mpg, also zero road tax on this model. The only other thing not so good is the boot space, ok if there is only 2 of you, but cramped with 4 people, otherwise a very good car. Thinking about a Focus Estate for the luggage space when I change this car.

Superb sport handling for its prize and size.Little body-roll grippy feel in the corners, small enough to drive comfortably around town. Little car for having fun . responsive engine and a nice gearbox. Quite capable car. SES/titanium american version is extremely well equiped for the prize. Only drawback is the back seats, leg room and headroom are cramped for adults. Brakes allright but the feel in the brake pedal tends to be long. Suspension could feel to some a bit harsh.
