I have owned this car from new mechanically utter junk 2 flywheel failures, circuit board failure, extensive wiring loom failure, window failure, warped discs, front tyres constantly need replacing Breaks down approx every 18 months, the cam belt has just failed and destroyed the engine scrap at 8 years of age. Nice to drive comfortable and roomy good fuel consumption but mechanically a total lemon and ford were not interested in the problems.

Excellent. Great driving position and view. Handles well, starts first time every time and very economical (average 38 mpg). Superbly practical with 7 seat option which we often reduce down to 5 seats for extra space for the kids, but can add 2 back very quickly if required. Expect this to still be the family workhorse for the next 2 to 3 years.

100k on the clock and never let me down. Everything sound, but has extraordinary appetite for light bulbs. 1.8 TDCi is not a sprinter but has enough punch for most situations and doesn't eat your head at petrol station. A great all-rounder with ideal storage capacity, folding seats you don't have to remove and plenty of room for 7 adults (needed occasionally).

Great to drive. Excellent space with the seats down - got a 6ft 6ins long dresser in no problem - better than a Volvo for space as the height is also greater. Comfy seats and plenty of legroom - middle seats recline too. Smooth ride and good turn of speed. Great DAB radio and USB connection. Only issue is the electrics - it sometimes doesn't recognise the key fob and it gives incorrect faults e.g. "Immobiliser active" when it clearly isn't as I am driving and gives audible warning for miles before giving up - happens when it has rained overnight.

Got 2009 Ghia 2.2 TDCI. 84k miles on the clock and this include approx 20k with caravan. Car goes strong with no serious issues found as yet. Very good on tyres, if you stick to rather expensive Primacy HP. Last year had to change the original set with approx 65k on the clock. Engine going strong with no issues, no oil consumption neither any clutch problems. Very happy with the purchase. Had some minor problems with alarm sensor but these were promptly resolved. Car very comfortable to drive on motorway, plenty of space for children and luggage Highly recommend.

Engine underpowered at pull away, too much turbo lag. Main problem is wheels and tyres. Have had 5 punctures after hitting potholes. No spare supplied and no where to put a spare if you buy one yourself. Emergency repair kit has not worked on any puncture, if it does work the tyre becomes a write off anyway. Each simple puncture has turned into a 6 hour recovery. Car companies can choose not to supply a spare, but should have to provide space for one in their design. I honestly believe the joy of motoring is taken away by constant stress about the possibility of a puncture. Motoring should evolve and not go backwards.

Goes like stink yet my previous 175bhp 2.2 diesel felt stronger. Expensive to run, wears out tyres at a prolific rate, 7000 miles for the front tyres is about average and they cost £250 each. It's done 43k miles and £10k in petrol! I struggle to get 26mpg. I also preferred the old removable seats for a 2+2+2 configuration and you lose a lot of storage height with the fold flat design. Overhead storage boxes are a poorly designed waste of space.

Overall the Galaxy does what you would expect. However having come to the Galaxy from a Seat Alhambra I'm afraid to say there are very few caparisons. With the Seat being more comfortable, more economical and massively better spec for less money.

Best car ever owned. End of story. 46000 trouble free miles. OK bit hard on tyres, but only 54 quid to replace by not buying premium. A superb vehicle. If I could only locate the squeak in the seats that occurs when the kids (4 of them) are in the back!!! Apart from that it really is a corker.

Having tried and owned fords since my teenage years including all versions of the Galaxy I have to say this one has bought me nothing but disappointment. Mk2 was outstanding, the only down side being the heavy seats that needed lifting out. Imagine my excitement at moving on to mk3 with its good looks and fold flat seats. I have to say the build quality and design has been terrible. So far I have had numerous electrical gremlins included water ingress in the alarm sounder (why in the wheel arch?) causing interior light and central locking problems in addition to Failing to protect the car. Parking sensors failed many moons ago, my dash display turns off at random. The driver armrest ratchet gave up the ghost so the arm flops down constantly. Electric windows constantly lost their memory and bulbs blow like there's no tomorrow. Squeaky clutch bearing, noisy turbo, shall I go on? Glad to be getting rid tomorrow and seeing as the whole range of fords seem dogged by similar problems these days, trying a Vauxhall for the first time. Sorry Ford but need to pull your socks up.

overall very good - no failures or let downs. one repeat fault with engine management - but that was solved by diagnostics machine clearing it from memory

Never off the road. At 4 years required new crankshaft pulley and aircon recharge, at 8 years, 702000 miles, new handbrake cables and front brake calliper overhaul. Otherwise routine servicing.

With this one ford got it right. Everyone that gets in the car comments on the space and comfort. I use it to tow a caravan and it is brilliant. The economy is good and geting better. The car is so versatile it is amazing. Best ever from ford.

Spacious, relatively reliable, economical load lugger. Decent styling, but seats could be more comfortable and damping a little softer/supple. I would be prepared to sacrifice some sharpness of handling for a more comfortable ride.

Very happy with it. Any problems we are experiencing are relatively minor and occasional and to be expected with a car approaching 7 years old. No problems in first 5 years.

Good quality mpv, i have had the same model for approx 15 years. My only real gripe is that i feel it is heavy on tyres. Front tyres are quite worn after 15000 miles, the rear after 20,000 miles.

Great car for family uses and long trips away eg camping, road trip abroad. Some very good family friendly touches interior wise. Bit thirsty but reliability good. Vision around outside good. Boot space a bit lacking but can be overcome. Very happy overall.

On the whole pretty good, but i wish the emission levels and fuel consumption were better. Also i would have liked the seats to fold flat more easily. I have actually take out the two rear seats to get a good load space. I also wish that this survey used a bigger type size!

The galaxy suits a family of 5 and is very practical, it has comfortable seats that very adaptable. As a ford it is reliable and cheap to maintain. A great workhorse with a bullet proof engine

The car receives some negative feedback on surveys, but our car has been superb. It is well built, comfortable and fantastic to drive considering it is a bus! It is better looking than its competitors and the interior design and build is a good as our audi.

It covers the miles with ease, good fuel consumption. Tows a caravan without a problem. Clutch is still going strong at 157k.

Great people carrier. Best in the 7 seater range. Practical not stylish. Kept moving without a problem all winter when mercs/bmw's had stopped! Road clearance and a good engine helped trememndously in the big freeze.

Generally a very good car, which i enjoy driving and using. However spoiled by needing:- brake vac pump recall, new steering column, new climate control display module, new hfw, new info module, new back up alarm. These issues have been made worse by the numerous visits of 50 miles round trip to the dealership each time.

Best car i've ever owned, extremely comfortable even on long journeys, Economical considering the size and weight. It's only let down by it's atrocious handling in snow and slush, the worst car i've driven, and before the so-called experts start, i know it's an auto box, but all my cars have been auto and never had problems in snow before, and i was a professional driver before retiring.

It is a good car let down by being on its third steering rack. The turbo was also replaced and the remote locking unit. The tyres are expensive and don't last that long either but it is economical for such a large car, good in the snow, comfortable and very, very practical. I don't think there is a better full size mpv but sort the steering racks out ford, please!

We had this car for over 4 years and it has been fantastic. It has never broken down and has been a joy to drive, great pace for something so big with reasonable economy. Tyres on the front can wear out quickly, especially when the wife is darting about! It has amazing space for the kids they have been really spoilt, as this is our fourth Galaxy. It has a great DAB radio and Bluetooth phone connection. We have used it to tow our caravan with bikes on the roof across the UK and France. I cannot find another car that fits all our varied needs, so having just lost it due to a fire we are looking for another.

Excellent performance from the Ecoboost engine - responsive with very little lag. Great cabin comfort and space and economical for a petrol. Best family car we have ever owned
