Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid - Reliability & safety
An excellent safety rating means the Hyundai Ioniq is a very safe car
The Hyundai Ioniq performs very strongly for customer feedback, and its safety credentials are unimpeachable.
Hyundai Ioniq reliability
The Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid came 27th out of the top 75 models in our 2021 Driver Power owner satisfaction survey, which is a great result. It scored highly for reliability and build quality, with only a small percentage of owners telling us they experienced one or more faults within the first year, mostly related to the electrics, engine or gearbox. Buyers loved the car’s low running costs, helped by cheap servicing and maintenance.
The Ioniq is a very safe car. Despite test criteria being made increasingly stringent, it scored the full five stars when assessed by Euro NCAP. All Ioniqs sold in the UK include automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, seven airbags, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning and rear cross-traffic alert, which makes reversing safer.
